Feng / Abundance: There is ease and gain. Support is granted, so do not worry, and the proper time is midday.

This is the judgment of Feng (Abundance), setting the overall situation and guiding principle for the whole hexagram. The image should be read as a concrete way of describing the situation before choosing how to act.

First Nine: Meeting the proper partner is favorable. Even after ten days there is no blame, and going forward gains esteem.

The first line is the lowest position, where a situation is just beginning and its strength is still forming. “no blame” means avoiding fault, not necessarily winning great success.

Second Six: The covering is fully set; at midday one sees the Dipper. Going forward may encounter suspicion or illness, but sincere, clear intent can still make it auspicious.

The second line often suggests a central and emerging position: no longer hidden, but not yet in command. “sincerity” points to trustworthiness and inner confidence; “auspicious” indicates a favorable direction.

Third Nine: Abundance is in full measure and in the middle of the day one sees a bad sign in heaven; the right arm is broken. There is no blame.

The third line stands at the end of the lower trigram, where effort and pressure increase and caution becomes important. “no blame” means avoiding fault, not necessarily winning great success.

Fourth Nine: Abundance is in the thatch, and at midday the Dipper is seen. To meet a level-headed ruler is favorable.

The fourth line enters the upper trigram and marks a threshold between holding back and advancing. “auspicious” indicates a favorable direction.

Fifth Six: A coming proclamation brings honorable praise and recognition. This is auspicious.

The fifth line is near the honored position, where influence can be exercised if power remains aligned with what is right. “auspicious” indicates a favorable direction.

Top Six: The house is filled and hidden, one peers at the door, yet no one is inside, and there is no meeting for three years. This is dangerous.

The top line is the end of the hexagram's movement, often warning about excess, culmination, or the need to change course. “misfortune” marks serious risk.
