孟（mèng）子（zǐ）曰（yuē）：（）“（）为（wéi）政（zhèng）不（bù）难（nán），（）不（bù）得（dé）罪（zuì）于（yú）巨（jù）室（shì）。（）巨（jù）室（shì）之（zhī）所（suǒ）慕（mù），（）一（yī）国（guó）慕（mù）之（zhī）；（）一（yī）国（guó）之（zhī）所（suǒ）慕（mù），（）天（tiān）下（xià）慕（mù）之（zhī）。（）故（gù）沛（pèi）然（rán）德（dé）教（jiào），（）溢（yì）乎（hū）四（sì）海（hǎi）。（）”（）

Mencius said, “Governing is not difficult: do not offend the powerful houses. What such a house admires, the whole state will admire; what the whole state admires, the realm will admire. Then virtuous instruction flows abundantly and reaches the four seas.”
