Purification and Reverence

English translation

Mencius said, “If Xi Shi were smeared with filth, everyone would pass her with a hand over the nose. Even someone of unattractive appearance, after fasting and bathing and making himself clean, may perform a sacrifice to the Supreme Deity.”
