年复一年，不是去金河，就是到玉门关；日复一日，陪伴我的只有马鞭和刀环。

“金河”“玉关”是北方边塞地名，泛指征战往来的边地。“马策”是马鞭，“刀环”是刀柄上的环，代指随身兵器。“岁岁”“朝朝”层层叠加，写戍边生活不断重复、没有尽头。

三（sān）春（chūn）白（bái）雪（xuě）归（guī）青（qīng）冢（zhǒng），（）万（wàn）里（lǐ）黄（huáng）河（hé）绕（rào）黑（hēi）山（shān）。（）

暮春三月，白雪仍飘落在青冢一带；万里长的黄河，绕着黑山奔流远去。

“三春”指春季第三个月，即暮春，边地此时仍见白雪，可见气候苦寒。“青冢”相传是王昭君的墓，在今内蒙古一带；“黑山”是边塞山名。两句以辽阔荒寒的景物，写征人所处的绝远之地。

重复本身就是怨 · Repetition Itself Is the Complaint

前两句连续用“岁岁”“朝朝”，又把两处边地和两件兵器对举，把漫长的时间压成一套不变的日程：年年在边地之间往返，天天只有马鞭和刀。诗人没有写一次具体的战斗，重复本身就构成了怨的来源。

The opening couplet stacks year after year upon day after day and pairs one frontier with another, one weapon with another, compressing long stretches of time into an unchanging routine: always shuttling between garrison lands, always with only a whip and a blade. No single battle is described; the repetition itself becomes the source of complaint.

地名排成的一幅边塞地图 · A Frontier Map Drawn from Place-Names

金河、玉关、青冢、黑山在诗中组成一幅不断移动的地图。它们相距极远，却被塞进短短四句，读来像征人的脚步被无限拉长。暮春的白雪和绕山的黄河，又给这幅地图添上寒冷与空旷，使“怨”不靠议论而靠距离成立。

Golden River, Jade Gate, Green Tomb, and Black Mountain form a map that keeps moving. They lie far apart, yet are packed into four short lines, so the soldier's steps seem endlessly stretched. Snow in late spring and a river winding around mountains add cold and emptiness. The complaint rests not on argument but on sheer distance.
